Blessed by favorable Vegas winter weather, one of the busiest furniture markets of the year just concluded with record breaking attendance. Current and new exhibitors filled showroom spaces fueling IMC's further expansion. Many exhibitors also reported an increase in orders and an unceasing foot-traffic that brought industry professionals from all over the world.
NPD Furniture is also grateful that we've been included in First Look's Trends for the last 4 years in a row. This points to our ongoing commitment in supplying our customers with affordable, on-trend and timeless furnishings for the mass market.
Based on Julie Smith-Vincenti's expert curation, here are some of the highlights for 2018:
- Ethereal Color Palette - In the Romantics & Realists theme, leading paint manufacturers and Pantone (global color systems leader) set the backdrop for 2018's look and feel for the home fashion trends. As noted, watery hues, blue-cast grays and indigo-blacks dominate modern silhouettes with light and/or mix-metal finishes.

- Jewel Tone & Art Nouveau Influences - Align with the Realists theme, we recognize that brilliant gem-inspired tones; set the stage for an elegant and dramatic vibe. Lighter brass to deeper gold hues might be paired with lustrous velvet fabrics dressed in masculine, tight channel tufting, for an art-deco inspired look.

- Reclaimed Wood for different appeals - Whether it's Farmhouse or Lakehouse style, the natural charm found in salvaged wood furnishings are conversation starters. Moreover, in Easy Now Housewares and dining theme curation, Caliente color palette by Benjamin Moore threads nicely with contemporary dining fashion as consumers are guided towards a look that's rustic, yet refreshing and elegant by incorporating decorative details like white finishes or gray concrete finish.
